Valeria was born in Jalisco, Mexico, and grew up in Southern California and the Bay Area. She completed her undergraduate degree at UC Santa Cruz! After completing her undergraduate degree, she served as academic advisor at UC Santa Cruz and UC Berkeley. As a academic advisor, she supported students with an many factors impacting their college experience including academics, personal/social support, financial literacy, and many more things. She recently completed her master’s in Urban Education Policy at Brown. Currently, she is the Assistant Director at the Undocumented, First-Generation, and Low-Income Center at Brown.
