As part of my role at CU Boulder, I support our undocumented students. I’ve worked in community organizing, international human rights, and international education before coming to this role, and I bring those lenses with me into the work. I come from a Bolivian/Brazilian/US family and moved to the US as a child. I am careful to name that I am not undocumented, which limits the reality of what I can know and understand. What I can say is that I grew up aware that it did impact people in my life, which led me into exploring what it means to advocate from privilege, the limitations there, and where there are opportunities for our students.
