Rommel is originally from Honduras where he grew up until he moved to the United States to continue and finish high school. Rommel holds an associate’s degree in business administration from Northern Virginia Community College, a bachelor’s degree in International Business from James Madison University, and a Master’s degree in Higher Education Leadership from Walden University. Rommel assumed his current role in July 2022 as the first named administrator for undocumented and immigrant student support at George Mason University.
