Javier Diego Jacinto (he/him/el) is a proud father, husband, higher education leader, & scholar-activist. Born in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico, he was raised in San Diego, California with roots in Soyaltepec, Oaxaca. Javier’s work focuses on exploring the factors that influence the recruitment and retention of Latino/x male teachers of color in K-12 education through the analysis of testimonios; evaluating the effectiveness of cultural and linguistic immersion experiences in preparing students to be effective bilingual teachers; and contributing to the work of undocumented Critical Race Theory (undocu-Crit).
