Iris E. Sanchez grew up on a horse ranch in a rural area of Indiana. She credits the small town where she was raised for her strong belief in justice and equality. Iris obtained two bachelor’s degrees from Valparaiso University, an MPA in the School of Public & Environmental Affairs from Indiana University Northwest, and a Non-Profit Management certification from Indiana University Northwest. Iris has advised the Latinx Students of Ivy Tech student organization for the past 18 years along with other several student organizations. Iris currently works at Purdue University Northwest as the Director of Hispanic Serving Institution Initiatives.
