Gioconda Guerra Perez

She/Her/Ella Executive Associate Vice Chancellor for Diversity, University of Illinois Urbana Champaign

Gioconda joined the University of Illinois in 2013 as the Director of the La Casa Cultural Latina. Her team expanded, created and implemented several signature programs, such as Conectate, an early moving program for Latinx incoming students. In 2018, she joined the OVCDEI as Assistant Chancellor for Diversity and Academic Inclusive Excellence. In December 2019, she became the Executive Associate Vice Chancellor for Diversity. She oversees several areas such as campus culture and climate, campus belonging, education and training, ISP, campus diversity initiatives, and serves as the Liaison for Undocumented/DACAmented support services.
