TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF AND WHAT YOU DO.
“I came to the U.S. from Mexico when I was one year old and with the help of family and TheDream.US scholarship, I was able to earn bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work. I am now a social services practitioner for the Riverside County Department of Public Social Services – helping children and families deal with a range of challenges.”
TELL US WHY YOUR WORK MATTERS…
“I have always had an innate passion for helping and being a social worker allows me to do that. I am now able to give back, support, and encourage children, families, and communities who are facing adversity and injustice.”
WHAT UNIQUE PERSPECTIVES DO DREAMERS BRING TO THEIR WORK?
“As an immigrant, I grew up in a low-income community and was surrounded by adversity. My background allows me to relate, connect, empower, and
assist children, families, and communities who have also faced injustice and adversity.”
