TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF AND WHAT YOU DO.

“I’m a Spanish teacher for public middle school students in San Bernardino, CA, and a proud graduate of Cal State University, San Bernardino, and University of California, Riverside, where I obtained my master’s degree in education with a Spanish credential.”

TELL US WHY YOUR WORK MATTERS…

“I teach my students about the language, culture, traditions, values, beliefs, food, music, and history of the Spanish-speaking countries. Additionally, I teach my students to learn and embrace the language of their parents or their home country. I help students further their knowledge of the language through interdisciplinary content.”

WHAT UNIQUE PERSPECTIVES DO DREAMERS BRING TO THEIR WORK?

“As an immigrant and a first-generation college student, I understand the importance for students to see themselves reflected in the curriculum and create their own stories that reflect the communities in which they live.”
