TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF AND WHAT YOU DO.
“I migrated from Mexico in search of a better life for my widowed mother and siblings, postponing my education dreams for 16 years while working as a dishwasher and chef in Manhattan. Now, thanks to DACA and TheDream.US National Scholarship, I am a Cum Laude graduate from Baruch College with a BA in Journalism and Spanish and I’m pursuing my MFA in Creative Writing in Spanish at New York University.”
TELL US WHY YOUR WORK MATTERS…
“Life and fibromyalgia have taught me to live with purpose. Through my writing, I narrate undocumented stories of invisible people who make a difference through mundane but extraordinary work.”
WHAT UNIQUE PERSPECTIVES DO DREAMERS BRING TO THEIR WORK?
“As undocumented Dreamers, we don’t ask for or take opportunities just to show our worthiness. We make sure opportunities are wide open to anyone who wants to make the American dream a reality.”
