Kelsey is a Fellow and Director of the Women’s Rights, Human Rights & Refugees program at the Edward P. Djerejian Center for the Middle East at Rice University's Baker Institute for Public Policy. She also teaches refugee and Middle East-focused courses in Rice's Master of Global Affairs program and in the Department of Political Science. Her research focuses on the politics of migration and refugee hosting in the Middle East and North Africa, and for her PhD dissertation, she spent three years interviewing refugees and asylum seekers in Egypt, Morocco and Turkey. She is also an advisory board member of Refugees Solidarity Network in New York.
