Danielle Macdonald

she/her/hers Associate Professor, Anthropology & Sociology, The University of Tulsa

I am an Associate Professor of Anthropology and Liaison for Afghan Newcomers at the University of Tulsa (TU). In this role, I work with local refugee communities, newcomers living on campus, and refugee-background students. As an advocate for cross-cultural learning, I run TU’s ECAR chapter and teach a service-learning course where students support refugee families in partnership with a local resettlement agency. I also teach cultural orientation for refugees and run the TU-Afghan Cultural Exchange for Afghan youth. Outside of my work with newcomers, I conduct archaeological research on prehistoric hunter-gatherer sites in Jordan and Cyprus.
