she/sie/elle Associate Professor of Sociology & Director of Civic Engagement, Wagner College, Sociology & Center for Civic Engagement

I am an Associate Professor of Sociology and the Director of Civic Engagement at Wagner College. I am also a Part-Time Assistant Professor and an Affiliated Faculty at the Zolberg Institute on Migration and Mobility at the New School. My research focuses on the intersection of immigration and race; specifically, how racism affects African refugees. My other research investigates the significance and meaning of community-based learning opportunities for students. I have been teaching community-based learning classes for over 10 years. Prior to my academic career, I worked for NGOs that provided services with and for refugees and immigrants.
